Donald Harmsen will celebrate his 80th birthday with family on the 17th and 18th of January. Don was born Jan. 22,1929 to Albert and Luella (Schultz) Harmsen on a farm near Garwin. Don was in the military, serving in Korea during the Korean War. He married Janelle Philp on July 1, 1951. Janelle died May 31, 1997. Don's children are Vicki(Ron) Small of Indianapolis, IN, Gerard (Cheri) Harmsen of Waterloo, Jim (Cecelia) Harmsen and Nancy Harmsen of Reinbeck. He has 8 grandchildren, 5 step- grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 11 step great- grandchildren. Two Grandsons are deceased.
