Local Scouts celebrate 100 years at Jamboree

April 15, 2009
Traer Star-Clipper

Troop 304 will be holding a soup supper on Thursday, April 16 at the North Tama Activity Center in Traer. The supper will run from 5 to 7 pm and will also have a themed basket silent auction. There will be a variety of soup to chose from, including Yukon Stew, a unique camp favorite.

The supper is being held to help fund the troop to send six scouts to Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia, next summer. They will be celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. Eight days will be spent at the Jamboree followed by a tour of Washington D.C.

The scouts will be holding several fund raisers before their trip. They are currently selling candy bars. There will be a car wash and bake sale in May.
