Marcia (Watts) Sagendorph will be the featured speaker at the Senior Girls Reception to be held on Wednesday, May 6, at 7:00 p.m. at Ripley United Church of Christ - Traer.
Marcia (Watts) Sagendorph is a 1985 graduate of North Tama County Community School. She is a professional writer living in Grayslake, Illinois with her husband Glenn, daughter Lauren, 15 and son Kyle, 12. Currently Marcia is working on freelance writing projects. She has written for Pioneer Press, a local weekly suburban newspaper, the Chicago Tribune and local magazines. While employed in the newspaper industry she has covered breaking news and created feature stories for multiple communities. While enjoying her writing career she draws on her past experiences with The Dale Carnegie Institute in St. Louis and the United Way of Lake County in Green Oaks, Illinois. Marcia graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in communications, where she enjoyedspending a semester in London on an internship program.
Marcia is involved in her church, loves music, funny movies and spending time with friends. Sheis always glad to return to Iowa to visit friends and family. Her brothers, Dean Watts and family of Hudson and Larry Watts and wife of Des Moines, still live in the area.
