There will be an informational meeting Monday, April 27 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be at the Kupka Library meeting room in the Traer Public Library.
The meeting is being held for the Traer Municipal Utilities Board, with the assistance of the attorney, to inform the Traer City Council of the progress made in the process to municipalize the natural gas service in Traer.
Mr. Cmelik, the attorney that has been helping in the process, will be present at the meeting. Cmelik is the city attorney for Hartley, Iowa and has gone through the process with them as well as helped other towns.
Also on the agenda is Pat Stief, General Manager of TMU. Stief will be presenting to the council.
The council will learn what has been done to date and what the next steps are in the process.
City Clerk, Jon Panfil, said that the attorney will suggest to the council that they consider a resolution to make a fair market value offer to Alliant Energy for the natural gas system, as this is the next step in the process to municipalize the service.
This is a public meeting and anyone is welcome.
