The North Tama County Community High School held it's Commencement ceremony Sunday, May 17 at the North Tama Gymnasium at 2:00 p.m. The ceremony started with the North Tama Concert Band playing while the Class of 2009 entered the gym.

Senior Sara Stoakes welcomed everyone and thanked them for their support throughout the years and attendance that day.
The "Star-Spangled Banner" was sung by the Chorus, directed by Mr. Terry Shay. The Mixed Chorus, Seniors sang "Time of Your Life," followed by "Until We Sing Again" by the Mixed Chorus, and finally the arrangement picked by the senior class, "The Best of Green Day" was played by the Concert Band.
Commencement addresses were given by Brooke Johnson, Derek Steffens and Sara Stoakes.
A Senior Video was shown highlighting the time and activities the Class of 2009 had spent together.
High School Principal, Irv Laube announce the Valedictorian, Sara Stoakes and the Salutatorian, Brooke Johnson. Laube also recognized members of NHS, Academic Letter winners, The Presidential Academic Award winners and students that carried a 3.0 grade point average for all four years of high school.
Superintendent, Gary Janssen presented the Class of 2009 and North Tama School Board Members, John Hayek, Diane Panfil and Gretchen Pargeon presented the diplomas.
The ceremony was ended with the concert band playing during the recessional.
A receiving line was formed in the North Tama Lunch Room for pParents and attendees to congratulate the members of the graduation class.
