Traer's 13th annual Winding Stairs Festival is scheduled to take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 6, 7 and 8. In keeping with this year's theme, Tailgating on Second Street, many fun-filled, friendly competitions, games and sporting events will take place.
So many events, games, and contests have been planned for this year that the festival has been expanded to include Thursday evening, August 6. Festivities will kick off that evening at the North Tama Athletic Complex with a best tailgating setup contest, followed by the North Tama Sports Awards, North Tama Girls Softball Team versus family game, an alumni slow pitch softball game and much more. Friday evening, August 7, will feature the Kiddie Parade and Kid Again Inflatables including: screamer double slide, rock-climbing wall, bungee basketball, volcano adventureland, tiger bouncer and safari toddler zone. Also, rock and roll band Kerosene will be performing from 9:00pm to 1:00am. A full day of family oriented fun and entertainment is planned for Saturday, August 8. Along with the inflatables, pool parties and games for kids, there will be the Grand Parade, the Smiley Face Train and entertainment by Stampede, a high energy country and rock music band from 8:00pm to midnight.
