Another school year is ending. The weather is heating up fast, and students are getting anxious to get out from behind the desks. The classrooms are heating up in the afternoon, which adds to that feeling. Many things are causing students to feel different kinds of emotions that always come with the end of the school year.
The average student is getting excited about the upcoming break from the normal school routine. They want to sleep in, go swimming, relax, and spend more time with friends and family. That same student is most likely feeling the pressure of final exams that require a bit of studying. They look forward to the tests, homework, and note taking being over for a few months. "My favorite part of the end of the school year and summer is that there's no more homework," said junior Colby Harms.
Seniors are preparing for their graduation, which is on Sunday, May 17. The Baccalaureate service for seniors was on Wednesday, May 13. Their last official school day was on Friday, May 15. Senior Sadie Hamilton said, "I look forward to getting out of school, doing new things, and meeting new people." After four years of high school, the seniors are finally graduating and moving on. Some are heading straight for the work force, others to some form of military, and many will be preparing for college next fall.
Whether the person is a senior heading off to college, a junior preparing for a semester test, or a freshman looking forward to hitting the pool during the summer, all of the students are anxious to get out of school for the summer. Then, in a few short months, they will return for another exciting year.
