It is that time of the year when the Red Cross Blood Drive is held in Traer. I ask everyone who is in good health to come to the Traer Memorial Building on Wednesday, July 8 during the hours of 12:30pm and 6pm and become a hero by donating a unit of blood. There is always a critical need for blood and blood products and we all seem to take the supply for granted by saying, "I don't have time" or I am Afraid" or "There is always enough". If you don't take the time and let the fear of the unknown keep you away, there definitely will not be enough.
I encourage you to call and make an appointment. This helps you to get in and out in less time and if you are afraid, let's talk Do not be afraid to help others. The staff is most helpful and kind and if you need, we will hold your hand and the food is delicious. The hospitals in Waterloo/ Cedar Falls are again counting on the Red Cross for their blood supply as well as our military troops around the world. Our goal in Traer is to collect 100 units and appointments are not necessary, however they do save time. Call 478-2947 for an appointment. Thank you, Cecelia Podhajsky, Coordinator.
