WASHINGTON David Morrison, son of Judy and Bruce Morrison of Traer, has just finished spending six weeks in Washington, D.C. working as an intern for Senator Chuck Grassley. Morrison is a senior at Iowa State University in Ames. He is majoring in genetics, political science, and international studies. "Interning in my office in Washington D.C. is a valuable experience for any student who wants to get a first-hand look at how the Senate works," Grassley said. "Interns play an important role in my office and are given the opportunity to take full advantage of their surroundings. An internship is a unique opportunity for students to gain professional experience that will help them in their future endeavors." Morrison worked as an administrative intern in Grassley's personal office. His duties included giving tours of the Capitol, working with Grassley's scheduler. "Interning for Senator Grassley has been a great experience. I've been able to see Washington politics from behind the scenes," said Morrison. "I've learned a lot and have had a fun summer exploring the city and spending time with other DC interns."
