Traer Star-Clipper

To the Editor:

On Friday, July 10, the residents of Cedar Falls experienced winds in excess of 100 miles per hour and woke to find streets blocked by fallen trees, poles and power lines. When the extent of the damage became clear, we put out the call for mutual aid and were soon joined by municipal utility crews from Waverly, Independence, Maquoketa, Muscatine, Ames, Traer and Grundy Center as well as the Butler County REC. Weeks of work for CFU alone became days or work with the help of these organizations.

Traer Municipal Utilities worked tirelessly to assist our crews in restoring service to our customers in a safe and prompt manner. The Traer employees are skilled professionals who are a credit to your community.
