Granger decendents hold reunion

Decendants of the Robert Granger family met at Taylor Park on Sunday, June 28, 2009. Relatives attended from Colorado, North Carolina, Kansas and Iowa for a potluck meal and short business meeting. Many participants toured the Traer Museum to view the wood carvings of descendant W.O.Z. Endicot and artifacts from the wedding of Eleazer and Eliza Granger as well as many other items related to residents of the area past and present. Of the 39 family members in attendance, Lois Eleanor Eggleston of Waverly, Iowa was the oldest and Liam Stoakes, son of Adam & Ellen Stoakes was the youngest member. David Calderwood of Traer, led a brief business meeting at which, Gwyneth Augustine of Ames agreed to serve as president. Michelle Eastman of Andover, Kansas will remain as Secretary/Treasurer as well as Trish Stoakes of Dysart and Alan Baier of Nebraska as historians. Aze Stoakes will contact the relatives in Nebraska to identify a host for gathering there in 2014. Neta Stoakes of Clear Lake volunteered to help with notification cards. Hosts were Hugh and Ruth Calderwood of Traer.
