Foster and Oliver wed

Jill Elizabeth Foster and Matthew Charles Oliver were united in marriage at Smith Chapel in Indianola on July 18, 2009.

The bride is the daughter of Steve and Rosanne Foster of Traer. The groom is the son of Dennis and Laura Oliver of Milo.

Honored guests were grandparents of the bride Darrell and Carol Needham of Greene, Theressa Foster of Oskaloosa, JoAnn and Lester Snowbarger of Oskaloosa and grandparents of the groom, Howard and Wilma Lord of Montezuma.

The matron of honor was Jennifer Cannon, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Katie Vander Linden, friend of the bride; Tara Rabe, friend of the bride; Myndee Vail, friend of the bride and Anne Peterson, sister of the groom. Junior Bridesmaid was Megan Oliver, sister of the groom.

Phil Oliver, brother of the groom served as best man. Groomsmen were John Burrell, friend of the groom; Will Larson, friend of the groom; Mark Foster, brother of the bride and Luke Foster, brother of the bride.

The flower girl was Mary Rose Foster, niece of the bride and the ring bearer was Joel Peterson, nephew of the groom. Personal attendants were Sarah Foster and Sarah Foster, both sisters-in-law of the bride. Nieces of the bride, Abby Swartz, Ellen Swartz and Rachel Needham attended the guest book.

Rev. Howard Lord, grandfather of the groom and Rev. Jerry Oliver, uncle of the groom officiated the wedding. Ushers were Nate Bauer and Scott Dirkx, friends of the groom. Amy Oliver, sister-in-law of the groom read scripture.

The service was filled with beautiful music as talented members of both families shared their musical gifts. Vocalists were Anne Peterson, sister of the groom and Matt Oliver, groom. Musicians were Luke Foster, brother of the bride, organ; Brent Peterson, brother-in-law of the groom piano; Dave Needham, uncle of the groom, trumpet; Sarah Foster, sister in law of the bride, violin; and Emily Swartz, niece of the bride, piano. A musical highlight of the service was the coming together of over fifty members of both families as they sang "What a Faithful God."

Following the ceremony a dinner reception and dance was held in Pleasant Hill. The reception was hosted by Mary and Scott Swartz, and Dave and Judi Needham, aunts and uncles of the bride.

Jill and Matt are now living in rural Milo. Jill continues to teach at Waukee. Matt teaches at Carlisle and is the head football coach at Southeast Warren. Their address is 15461 200th Avenue, Milo, IA 50166.
