Robinson makes it to state in Cross Country

October 28, 2009
Traer Star-Clipper

David Robinson, a North Tama Sophomore, will be representing North Tama at the State Cross Country meet Saturday, Oct. 31 in Fort Dodge.

Robinson qualified for the state meet on Monday, Oct. 26, in Marshalltown.

Robinson finished in a time of 17:41 and third place, which qualified him for the state meet.

The boys 1A state meet will be ran at 2:30pm.

Coach Mike Skopec said, "After being #11 last year when the top 10 qualified, David ran a very smart race, putting himself in the top 5 early on. He then moved up and did not leave anything to chance. The weather was very nice and cleared off and was sunny. The course was very wet in places and many of the times were slower than I expected from the top contenders. I think that David is ready for the state meet and should have a good race. I know he has set his goals high."
