Traer elects new mayor, city council members

For the first time in 32 years the City of Traer has a new mayor.

On Tuesday, Nov. 2 the voters turned out in record numbers to elect Pete Holden as the new mayor of Traer. Holden received a total of 295 votes.

Defeating Marlene Beenken by a margin of 95 votes, with Beenken receiving 200 votes total.

Also elected for the two open city council seats were Incumbent Lou Rausch and Lee Wiges.

Incumbent, Lou Rausch received 271 votes, Lee Wiges received 311 votes, Randy Kvidera received 184 votes and Cindy Buresh received 199 votes.

The new Mayor and Council members will take their seats on the council at the January 2010 meeting.
