Frances Lucille Lawrence, 87, died of heart failure on April 21, 2010 at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. She was born in rural Persia, Iowa, on July 6, 1922, the 10th of 11 children to Raymond and Maud (Evans) Davis. Frances married Leslie Pershing Lawrence on September 16, 1940. The Lawrence's enjoyed working and living in Logan, Harlan, Traer, Ames, Guttenberg, and Elkader in Iowa and Southlake, Texas. Following her husband's death in 2000, Frances lived in Harlan and Avoca, and most recently in Prairie du Chien to be close to family. Frances is survived by her four children: Ed (Kris) Lawrence of McGregor; Roger (Sandi) Lawrence of Ames; Laraine (Bernie) Ely of Bernalillo, N. M.; and Linda (Marc) Powell of Traer, 32 grand and great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. A private burial service will be held in Shelby County.
