Three track records were broke on May 7 at the Iowa Star Conference meet that was held in Dike. Josie Youel, eighth grade and Kelon Hansen, seventh grade, both took home the new records for their running events. Youel set two of the new records in the 100 meter dash and in the long jump. Beating Sara Stoakes 100 meter dash record of 13.38 in 2003, Youel finished with a new record of 13.09. In the long jump Youel beat the record held by Gayle Dinsdale of 14' 7" with a jump of 15' 2".

Hansen broke the previous 100 meter dash record time of 12.38 set by Brendon Boerm with his finishing time of 12.23. Both Youel and Hansen also won their 200 meter dashes in the May 7 conference meet that was held May 7 in Dike.
