Cecilia Frances (Novotny) Sieck, 93, Tama, died Friday, May 21, 2010, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wed., May 26, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher as celebrant. Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo.

She was born April 3, 1917, in Toledo, the daughter of Louis and Emma (Kalinay) Novotny. She was married to Henry W. "Hank" Sieck Oct. 4, 1938, on her parents' farm in rural Toledo. Cecilia had formerly worked for Zigler Nursing Home in Tama and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama and was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary in Tama. Cecilia enjoyed her flower garden and dancing to Czech music.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Henry W. "Hank" Sieck on Oct. 11, 1998; one daughter, Linda Jordan; one granddaughter, Lisa Moore; a sister Charlotte Beecher; and a sister in infancy, Blanche Novotny; and three brothers, Sylvester, Paul, and Leo Novotny.

Survivors include seven sons, Robert (Sandra) Sieck, Mobile, Ala, Lester (Nancy) Sieck, Toledo, Le Roy (Pat) Sieck, Mobile, Ala, Roger (Kathy) Sieck, Toledo, Larry (Shelley) Sieck, Princeton, Mo, Ronald (Lisa Higginbotham) Sieck, Toledo, Loren (Jean) Sieck, Tama; three daughters, Rebecca (Glen) Cline, Tama, Regina Sieck, Tama, and Loretta (Tom) Ledvina, Elberon; 27 grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 22 step great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a one sister, Marian Nelson, Wilton Manors, Fla.

A memorial fund has been established.
