The Kubik Finch Post Auxiliary Post #142 met at the Memorial Building at 6 p.m. on May 18. Hosting a dinner to honor the Gold Star Members. None were able to come.
The Dysart Auxiliary ladies were invited also. A delicious meal was served. Twenty four members and guests attended and enjoyed the meal followed by the meeting and all played Bingo.
Sharon Allen played the piano and we all sang two patriotic songs. Irene Hanus stepped in for Secertary Kathy Manfull. Minutes and treasury reports were read. Both approved.
Audrey Lenaberg and Irene Hanus decorated the museum windows for Memorial Day. It looked very nice. Audrey Lenaberg's great-granddaughter was Miss Poppy. She and her twin bother, Mother, grandmother & great-grandmother went to businesses on Second Street with poppies and gathered over $100. Arlene Schmitt was poppy chairman and did a wonderful job. Thank you Arlene for all your hard work.
We have 190 members and are three over goal.
The annual Tama Co. Ice Cream Social will be held at the Garwin Shelter House June 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. Proceeds go to the 1168th National Guard Unit in Marshalltown. Used DVDs or new ones are being gathered for the service men and women to enjoy.
Tama County meeting at Traer Unit June 22 with a potluck. Drinks furnished at 6:30 p.m. Flag Disposal Ceremony will be held.
Next meeting will be held June 15 at 7 p.m. Election of officers is on the agenda. Shellie and Sue Morrison will be the hostesses.
Bloodmobile on July 7 from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Traer Memorial Building.
