The first week of June the North Tama girls Softball Team kept busy on the field with 5 different games.
On June 2 the girls traveled to play against CAL, Latimer. Pitcher, Morgan Halupnick had a good day on the mound pitching the entire game and bringing in one run for the Redhawks. First Baseman, Kelsey Upah played well, stopping 12 players from making it past her position. Upah also hit a home run bringing in one runner in for NT.
Sidney Fehr playing short stop had one out against CAL and also helped with three assist and added two runs for the Redhawks. Amanda Hoeg, third baseman had two outs, two assists and one run. Erin Herink, also brought in one run for NT. The NT girls won their game 7-3. The girls played at home on June 4 against Northeast Hamilton.
Erin Herink did a great job bringing in three runs for the Redhawks. Howard and Halupnick also adding one each to the scoreboard giving North Tama a 5 -0 win over NE Hamilton. On June 5 the girls had troubles winning in a tournament played against Gladbrook-Reinbeck, Lisbon and GMG falling short by one point against each of the teams.
Against Lisbon, North Tama played an even game and finished behind with a score of 3-2, Lisbon. Gladbrook-Reinbeck also finishing the game with NT behind them by one. Sidney Fehr pitched five innings for the Redhawks having 5 earned runs and nine hits. Allison Zobel hit a double and had one RBI for the team. The girls finished the game with a score of 8-7, G-R.
GMG brought NT to the same results at the end with NT falling short with the final score of 4-3, GMG. Emma Knoop pitched five innings with 4 earned runs, 8 hits and 1 loss. Halupnick had 2 RBI's. Zobel and Mallory Espenscheid brought the Redhawks 3 points. A tough day for the girls but they worked hard.
