It was Homecoming week this past week at North Tama where the Redhawks kept up their winning streak beating Colo-Nesco 48 to 9. The Redhawks took the field Friday night ready to beat the Royals.
In the first quarter the Redhawks put 7 on the board early with a 43-yard run from quarterback Brendon Boerm. Boerm had three touchdowns for the night and the 2nd came just 6 minutes later in the first quarter running the ball 56 yards into the endzone ending the first quarter at 14-0. Just two minutes into the second quarter Cade Isenhower punched it through the defense for another six points. The extra point was good by Nolan Hefty, putting the Redhawks up 21-0. After holding the Royals inside their own 20 they were forced to punt, where Tyler Cizek blocked the punt leaving North Tama with the ball on the 2-yard line. Setting up a 2nd touchdown for Cade Isenhower. Then with 58 seconds left on the clock Brendon Boerm connected with Lucas Hefty who ran 13-yards into the endzone.
Going into the third quarter the Redhawks were up 35-3, and just a minute into the third quarter Brendon Boerm had his third touchdown of the night running for 52-yards. Colo scored in the 3rd quarter putting up 6 more points only to have Lucas Hefty block the extra kick. In the fourth quarter Isenhower had his third touchdown plowing through the Colo defense for the touchdown. Ending the game 48-9.
Brendon Boerm and Cade Isenhower each had 3 touchdowns on the night. Boerm had 11 carries for 227-yards, and 14 tackles. Isenhower had 18 tackles with Tyler Zook and Brandon Svoboda each with 9 tackles.
Other games in the district were Postville(4-0) beating Central Elkader(2-2) 21-19. Valley(1-3) played Don Bosco(0-4) beating Bosco 40-14. And Edgewood-Colesburg(1-4) beating E. Buchanan(1-3) 20-6.
