North Tama kept the crowd on their feet again with another close game. Last Friday night the boys suited up and hit the road to play Postville who was also 5-0. The Redhawks overcame home field advantage, weather, and a long two-hour drive to sink the Pirates 35-14.
The Pirates were on the scoreboard first with just four minutes left on the clock in the first quarter. The Redhawks stole the momentum back when Brendon Boerm ran the kick off back 84-yards to tie the game. The quarter ended tied 7-7. In the second quarter North Tama pulled ahead and held the pirates from scoring. The Redhawks scored two touchdowns in the second, one on a pass play from Boerm to Boerm (Brendon to Mitchell). And then another run from quarterback, Brendon Boerm, ending the half at 21-7.
The third quarter the Pirates scored after a Redhawk turnover. Which made the score 21-14. The Redhawks didn't let that faze them and scored two minutes later again from Brendon Boerm. Ending the third quarter 28-14. In the fourth quarter with two minutes left on the clock Boerm handed the ball off to Lucas Hefty on a reverse and Hefty ran 9-yards into the endzone for the touchdown. The win, brought the Redhawks to a 6-0 record and ended the Pirates winning streak at 5.
