The JV football boys traveled to Wapsie Valley last Monday to take on the Warriors. The boys held yet another team from scoring, to take their record to 6-0. The Redhawks started a little slow but ended up beating Wapsie 38-0 to remain undefeated for the year.
In the first quarter the JV squad had 3 turnovers, but to their credit gave up no points. During the second quarter they came alive and began scoring. Just a few minutes into the quarter Dalton Hulme hooked up with Mitchell Ackman for the 1st touchdown for the Redhawks. Then in the last 3 minutes for the game North Tama scored 3 more times. The 1st was a pass play into the hands of Clayton Blocker for the TD. Blocker then turned around and picked the ball out of the air for an interception and ran it back for another touchdown just a minute later. Then 30 seconds later North Tama had another pick from number 18, Jacob Watson who also ran it back for the last touchdown before half.
Along with the two interceptions for the touchdowns North Tama had two fumble recoveries and another interception thanks to number 4, Brent Billerbeck. In the third quarter Dalton Hulme completed a pass to Brent Billerbeck who danced around the Wapsie Warriors to the end zone for 75 yards on the play. Then in the fourth quarter North Tama put up their last points of the night in the form for a field goal from Tanner Swanger to end the game with a score of 38-0.
The JV boys play again next Monday at home against Belle Plaine, which will conclude the North Tama JV season. Game starts at 6pm, so come on out and support the Redhawks for their last game of the season.
