Carol Ann Zimple, 47 of Traer died Monday, December 20, 2010 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo from a sudden illness. Services were held Thursday, December 23 at United Methodist Church in Traer with a private family burial at Buckingham Cemetery in Traer.
Carol Ann Zimple was born September 15, 1963 in Waterloo, daughter of Dean Allen and Alice Mae Kupka Zimple. Carol received her education in Traer and graduated from North Tama High School in the Class of 1981. She continued her education at a culinary college in Cedar Falls and later worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Marshalltown. In 2009 she moved to Traer and was employed at Afina in Waterloo. Carol became ill suddenly at her home in Traer on Monday and was admitted to the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo where she died at the age of 47 years. She was preceded in death by her father Dean in 1994, her grandparents Fred and Frances Kupka and Herbert and Ada Zimple. She is survived by her son Nicolas Dean Alvarez-Zimple of Traer, her mother Alice Zimple of Traer, three brothers, Galen (Carol J. ) of Traer, Larry (Alice) Zimple of Cedar Rapids and Kevin of Traer, four nieces; Trusha (Chris) Shimp, Holly (Ben) Nablo, Trista Zimple and Joi Bergman, three nephews Jason Zimple, Zander Zimple and Todd Bergman, two great nieces and nephews Kacey and Danielle Shimp and Ben Nablo Jr. A memorial fund is being established.
