Mark Alan Lindeman, 58, died February 18, 2011 at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, from a sudden illness.
A visitation was held Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Overton Funeral Home, Dysart. A private family service and burial will be held at a later date.
Mark Alan Lindeman was born April 22, 1952 in Waterloo; son of Myron and Ione Cafferty Lindeman. He received his education in the Geneseo Schools and later Dysart where he graduated with the Class of 1971. He worked at John Deere and Company, Gray Iron and later Swifts in Marshalltown for 20 years. On June 15, 1974 he was united in marriage to Kris Catron at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Traer. Mark and Kris made their home on the family farm near Geneseo until 1981 when they moved their family to Dysart. Mark became ill suddenly at his home on Friday afternoon February 18, 2011 and was taken to the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo where he later died. Mark loved his family very much and spent most of his retirement with his wife "Krises" as he referred to her , his kids and grandkids. He loved to fish, hunt, and trap and above all he loved camping with his family. He also enjoyed going on vacations, spending time at Okoboji fishing on Walleye Weekend. Mark was always one to lend a hand in helping anyone out that needed help. He loved small talk with anyone and everyone knew he "loved to talk". He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Kris, his children; Michael (Laurie) Lindeman and their children Zach and Jason, Jacqueline Lindeman (Noah Cripe) and her children Ashley and Hailey and Jason (Keli) Lindeman and their children Jade, Chase, and Hunter, two brothers Paul (Donna) Lindeman of Dysart and Dean Spencer of Rockwell City.
A memorial fund has been established.
