Minnie E. "Mickey" Newman Karr, 81, Altus, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 14 at the Dysart Cemetery Dysart.
Minnie E. Bailey was born on October 26, 1929 in Early, to Homer Eli and Lillian Fern (Young) Bailey. She married Thomas Lee Newman on January 29, 1949. He passed away on January 29, 1960. She later married Cleone Karr and then Wayne Ethridge. She was a homemaker for most of her life. Mickey enjoyed fishing and was a great cook who loved baking. She was a very friendly person who would talk to anyone.
Her first husband, a son, Dennis Cleone Karr, four brothers, Charles, James, Ralph and Homer, and two sisters, Joyce and Shirley, preceded her in death.
Survivors include ten children, Alex Newman and wife, Charline, of Evansdale, Sandi Hansen and husband, Dean, of Evansdale, Kitty Wagner and husband, Gene, of Deep River, Thomas Newman of Evansdale, Terry Newman and wife, Connie, of Hampton, Brenda Newman of Evansdale, Eulalia Averhoff and husband, Dale, of Evansdale, Timothy Newman and wife, Susan, of Elk Run Heights, Toni Hay and husband, Michael, of Piper City, Ill., and Tina Rakowski and husband, Jeff, of Grand Forks, N.D.; a sister, Mary Bailey of Evansdale; a brother, Ron Bailey of Monticello; 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and a loving companion, Joe Radcliff.
