Randall R. Foster, 56 of Dysart died September 4, 2011 of an apparent heart attack. Services will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Dysart at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to services, also at United Methodist Church.

Randall Russell Foster was born November 26, 1954 in Waterloo, IA, son of John Russell and Marjorie Ann (Degner) Foster. He received his education in Dysart and graduated from Dysart High School in the Class of 1973. He continued his education at Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo where he studied Animal Science. Over the years Randy worked a variety of jobs, but the most of his life was spent working the American Red Cross, Corporate Express and working with his Purebred Animals. He raised Purebred Shorthorns, Chow-Chow dogs, Simmental Cattle and Llamas on the family farm. On Sunday September 4, 2011 Randy was working around the farm clearing brush and suffered a massive heart attack and was taken to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo where he died at the age of 56 years. He was preceded in death by his father John on October 29, 2011. He is survived by his mother Marjorie Foster of Dysart, one brother Donald Foster of Tama, IA and a sister Linda (Ed) Felts of Dysart, two nephews Justin Tharp of Vinton, IA and Ron Tharp of Dandridge, TN and his best friend Larry Carl of Atkins.
