Monday morning supervisors Kendall Jordan and Larry Vest met for their regular meeting with supervisor Dan Wilkens absent.
Auditor Laura Kopsa told supervisors that the corrections to its reprecincting and redistricting plan materials have been received by the Iowa Secretary of State's Office and appear to meet the precinct and district requirements set forth by the Iowa Code.
Kopsa told supervisors the ordinance would be published for three weeks now and would start in next weeks papers. After that the plan will be effective but will not legally take effect until January 1, 2012.
County Engineer Lyle Brehm was present with a road report stating the deck on the Iowa River Bridge near the Quarry has been poured. Work will continue as scheduled.
Three permits were granted, one to Windstream for work in Grant township at 2044 Tama Road. Two were for work by Poweshiek Water, one in Section 2 in Perry Township and one in Section 13 in Geneseo township.
Lindi Roelosfe, Tama County Economic Development Director was present explaining that the first Tama County Strategic Planning Task Force meeting in Toledo was held December 3, 2009, the second on February 4, 2010.
Roelosfe stated the Tama County employees who attended the meetings received no compensation for their time and attended the meetings on a voluntary basis. Also any elected officials in attendance were not there as an official part of their duties. Roelosfe said that the services that were volunteered would have been allowable expenses borne by the subgrantee had the City paid for them. The monetary rate used was for the in-kind match and is the standard rate for similar services.
This information has been sent to FEMA Mitigation Project Officer of the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Vice President Kendall Jordan has signed the letter.
Claims approved for the past week came to $79,419.72.
