The North Tama FFA (Future Farmers of America) will be holding their first annual Farmers for FFA fundraiser. This fundraiser will consist of farmers donating their desired amount of bushels (corn or soybeans) to the North Tama FFA account at any Heartland Co-op. The FFA will be "giving back" to the farmers by doing an estimated yield check next fall before harvest. The yield check results will be returned to the farmers while the students will be learning about yield checking, why it is important, and how to do it. The money encountered from this fundraiser will help fund future trips, educational opportunities, and our own FFA outreach program. The North Tama FFA will have a booth at Heartland Co-op- Traer on Saturday October 15, 2011. At the co-op we will be presenting our fundraiser, brochures and business cards will be available. We will be there from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on that Saturday. We hope to speak with many locals, and raise money for the North Tama FFA students, so they can be future agricultural leaders.
