The Cross Country team traveled to Knoxville for the state qualifying meet. A team is made up of 5 or more athletes. There was 22 teams there total, but only twelve counted as full teams and North Tama Girls placed tenth out of the twelve. Freshman Abi Watson came in with a time of 16: 53, while Junior BrandiAnne Daub came in with a time of 19: 25. Senior Kaliey Kladivo ran a time of 20:16, Freshman Rachel Kopriva ran a time of 25: 25 and Senior Nicole Schlichting ran a time of 29:24.

The afternoon finshed off with the boys. Juniors Joshua Townsend ran a time of 21:32, Robert Young ran a 23: 34 and Cody Finical ran a time of 23:53. Coach Skopec thought the year went well.

"It would have been nice to have more athletes because it's nice to have a team. There's a reason to push yourself even harder to know the team score matters because everyone's place counts," said Skopec.
