In the past couple of weeks, the North Tama musical has come under way. They have chosen the well known musical "Guy's and Doll's" to perform, and have chosen their main roles with: Robert Young staring as Nathan Detroit, Stephanie Schroeder starring as Miss Adelaide, Shane Lawton starring as Sky Masterson, and Rebekah Williams starring as Sarah Brown.

"I love playing Adelaide because she is fun upbeat and kind of quirky like me," said Senior Stephanie Schroeder.

"I like playing Nathan Detroit because he has a lot of great songs," said Junior Robert Young.

"I like playing Sky Masterson, because he has a lot of great songs and all in all a smart guy," said Senior Shane Lawton.

"I enjoy staring as Sarah Brown, because she is stubborn, sophisticated, and simply hilarious during the Havana scene," said Senior Rebekah Williams.

The musical "Guy's and Doll's" plot is about, Nathan Detroit. Desperate to find money to pay for his floating crap game, he bets Sky Masterson a thousand dollars that Sky will not be able to take a local Salvation Army girl, Sarah Brown, to Cuba. While Sky eventually is able to convince Sarah to join him, Nathan battles with his fianc of fourteen years, Adelaide.

"The 1950's musical Guy's and Doll's focuses on all the great themes: love, friendship, action, and adventure. I chose this upbeat and classical musical because of its wide appeal. I feel that the energy and enthusiasm within the students at North Tama will help bring to life this musical," said first year musical director Danica Stearns.

All are encouraged to attend and engage in the excitement of a fun filled evening. The play will be held on November, 19 and 20 at 7:00pm in North Tama's High School gym.
