Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at the Owen Family Funeral Home in Syracuse, Ind., for Phyllis J. Day, 76, of Syracuse. She died Sunday evening, Oct. 30, 2011 at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse, of cancer.
Phyllis was born Oct. 4, 1935 in Rowley, daughter of Charles and Mildred (Basquin) Grover. The family moved to Clutier in 1948, and Phyllis graduated from Clutier High School in 1954. She graduated in 1958 from Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada, and she was married March 19, 1961 to Richard Day. Phyllis was a homemaker, and a member of Grace Bible Baptist Church in New Paris, Ind.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Day of Syracuse; two sons, Paul Day of Michigan City, Ind.; and Phillip Day of Syracuse; two daughters, Beth (Scott) Clements of Goshen, and Eunice (Robert) Snyder of Lewistown, Mont.; eight grandchildren; one brother, Tom (Joan) Grover of Belleville, Kan., and a sister, Ellen (Sam) Young of Traer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Timothy Clements; and two sisters, Charlotte Jensen Feild and Nancy Ewoldt.
