Clutier Unit to have sewing day

The Hora-Machacek Legion Auxiliary #453 of Clutier held its monthly meeting on Monday, Dec. 5 at 1:30 p.m.

President Veronica conducted the meeting with 7 members present.

Pauline Sienknecht and Eileen Hora advanced the colors.

The group recited the Pledge of Allegiance and Auxiliary Preamble.

November minutes were read and approved. Treasurer Linda gave the units financial report. Veronica presented a bill for paint and supplies so Pauline Sienknecht made a motion the bill be paid and the motion was seconded by Eileen Hora. Motion carried.

Money for candy for IVH tray favors will be sent to Des Moines.

50 nut cups are being made for IVH for January.

The dining hall has been painted. Those participating were Linda and Ron Dvorak, Eileen Hora, Mary Seda, Pauline Sienknecht, Bob and Marcella Caslavka, Bernard Svoboda and Veronica Pavlicek. Several of them also helped removing pictures, taping and rehanging the pictures.

Cookies for IVH were brought to the meeting. Eileen and Donna Hora had 7 1/2 dozen and Linda Dvorak had 8 dozen. Linda will deliver them to IVH on Tuesday, the gift wrap day.

Food products were collected by members attending the meeting for the NE Iowa Food Pantry. Linda will deliver the products to them.

Veronica reported on the joint county meeting she attended on Nov. 18 at the Meskwaki Tribal Center. The next county meeting will be at the Clutier Post Home on Feb. 28 at 7 p.m.

We will be having a sewing day on January 3 begining at 9 a.m. We will have soup and salad lunch at noon. Two soups are being furnished so members bring salads.

Happy Birthday was sung to Vera Sevcik and Mary Seda.

Vera Sevcik won the door prize.

Veronica served sandwiches and apple strudle for lunch.
