Anastasia Nicole Nagel and Brian Marion exchanged vows on August 20, 2011. The wedding was voted the Most Unusual Wedding of 2011 by Orange County Bride. The staged medieval-Viking wedding took place outside with games and "battles" early in the day followed by the ceremony at 5 p.m. which was followed by an al fresco feast and more rivalry and merry-making.
The bride was the class Valedictorian of her SEP high school class, graduated with honors from Grinnell College in 2005 and is pursuing an advanced degree in nuero-science at USC, Irvine.
The groom also graduated from Grinnell and is also pursuing an advanced degree in neuro-science at USC, Irvine.
The couple met while attending Grinnell and in their spare time enjoyed the "DAG" Club, a medieval weapons club.
Nagel is the daughter of Steve and Marie Nagel and granddaughter to Argyl Nagel of Traer.
