The Clutier Public Library has purchased two new public access computers with a $2,000.00 grant received from the Tama County Community Foundation. These computers are specifically for use by the public. Traditionally, when patrons come in to use computers they use them to do schoolwork, to job hunt, to write resumes, to file for unemployment and to access social networking sites and to check their personal email accounts. Our public library is also going to serve as an access point for Iowa Workforce Development.
Our election day soup day was a success again this year. Clutier has a great reputation for good cooks and the homemade soups, rohlicky, pies and bars are always a big hit.
People continue to comment about the movie, "Hometown", and seem to really appreciate that Clutier heritage and history were incorporated into the plot of the movie. Many people see the movie and are happy that we filmed before the destruction caused by the storm We have received more copies of the movie and they can be picked up at the Clutier Library.
We have received several new books, including:
Red Mist by Patricia Cornwell
The Sacred Acre by Mark Tabb
Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand
Shock Wave by John Sandford
The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks
The Litigators by John Grisham
Zero Day by David Baldacci
V is for Vengeance by Sue Grafton
Kill Alex Cross by James Patterson
