The North Tama Redhawk boys wrapped up their track season on Friday, May 4, with a meet at Meskwaki. The boys upped their point totals and ended up finishing in sixth place by the time all was said and done.
The team earned a total of 48 points, the bulk of which came from continued success in the jumping and throwing events. Mitchell Boerm tied for first in the High Jump with a leap of 6' 1", giving the team 10 points. In the Long Jump, Nick Whannel earned four points with his fourth place finish, the result of an 18' 9.5" jump.
The boys also earned 10 points with their surprise win in the 4X800 Meter Relay. The North Tama boys ran an 8:54.2 in that event. The 1600 Meter Medley Relay was also a strong showing by the Redhawks. The group finished second, earning eight points with their run of 3:59.3.
