The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Tama County will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday evening, June 15 at the South Tama High School track. In case of rain, the Relay will be held in the South Tama H.S. Gymnasium. Fundraisers have been held in Dysart, Gladbrook, Tama, Traer, and other sites in Tama County. The schedule of events for the Relay has been announced by the planning committee. At this point 23 teams have registered to participate.

1:00 2:00 Silly Hour: Be ready to do the "Hokey Pokey" "Chicken Dance" and other "silly" dances.
2:00 3:00: Poker Lap: Receive a card each lap, after 5 laps highest hand wins.
3:00 4:00: PJ Hour: Wear your favorite pajamas
4:00 5:00: Back to the '80s: Wear your best 80's outfit and answer 80's trivia.
5:00 6:00: At the Beach: As the sun comes up it is time to head to the beach. Wear your beach attire, sun screen, and sunglasses.

The funds raised are used in research to find cures, education on how to reduce the risk of cancer, and support for those currently battling cancer.
