The regular meeting of the Clutier 4-H club was held on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the home of Ben Behrens. The meeting was called to order by President Emma Knoop. The pledge of allegiance was led by Trent Banes. The 4H pledge was led by Carter Pokorny. Roll call was answer by 15 members by answering with What is a project you are planning this year for fair? The minutes of the previous meeting were read. Blake Greiner make a motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, and Ben Behrens seconded the motion. The Treasurer's report was given by Rachael Kopriva. Zack Greiner make a motion to approve the Treasurer's report and Ellie Behrens seconded the motion. One birthday was noted by Tessa Dvorak. Old business was the Easter egg hunt which was a hit with all the children that attended. Signs for the exhibits were talked about, which were damaged in the wind storm last June. Five members will attend the FSQA training at Hawkeye Community College. New business is the 4-H for 4-H campaign which the club agreed to do again this year. The club will be ordering shirts for the new members. Upcoming events for the club are RAGBRAI, May flower planting, along with registration for livestock ID forms, weigh-ins and a rabbit workshop. Presentations were Colin Sienknecht- How to tie a tie, Trent Banes- How to fry an egg, Blake Greiner- What food to feed lot cattle, Hannah Dvorak- One minute cake (It was delicious!) Zack Greiner- Which lures to use when fishing. The meeting was adjourned by Emma Knoop.
The next regular meeting of the Clutier 4-H club was held on Sunday, May 6th, at the city park. President Emma Knoop called the meeting to order. Pledge of allegiance was led by Sally Howard. 4-H pledge was led by Rachael Kopriva. The secretary's report was read. Sally Howard make a motion approve the minutes and Hannah Dvorak seconded the motion. Treasurer's report was given by Rachael Kopriva. Tessa Dvorak make a motion to approve the Treasurer's report seconded by Hannah Dvorak. Roll call was answered by ten members by answering with What is your summer plans? Birthdays this month are Madison McKee and Blake Greiner. The club will plant flowers again for the city of Clutier. Colin Sienknecht will work on the fair signs for exhibits. A new rule for county fair this year is NO shaving cream! The booth theme is 'Brighten Your World". Sharon Knoop and Lissa Ubben with be in charge of the members on the booth committee. Members will participate in planting flowers in a bucket for fair. Tama County fair dates are June 18th 22nd. Presentations were given by Tessa Dvorak- Garden sphere, Jessica Ubben- Friendship bracelets, Andrea Ubben- Old time flowerpots. The meeting was adjourned by Emma Knoop.
