Trichelle Jackson was awarded the Doctor of Optometry degree by the Illinois College of Optometry, during its commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 19, 2012. This marks the 140th anniversary of ICO, which is the oldest continually operating college of optometry in the United States. Trichelle Jackson was one of 168 graduates, representing 27 states and seven Canadian provinces, welcomed into the optometry profession.
Trichelle graduated Magna Cum Laude, was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honorary Society, Tomb and Key Honorary Society and received the American Academy of Optometry Travel Award. Trichelle received the Gaile Lee Carlson Memorial Math and Science Scholarship and the Marchon Eyewear Practice Management Award.
Trichelle and her husband Adam have moved to Forest City, Iowa where Trichelle will be working with Dr. Don Furman. Doctor Furman currently practicing in Garner and Britt, recently purchased the Forest City practice where Dr. Jackson will be the primary eye care doctor.
Doctors of Optometry (ODs) are the primary health care professionals for the eye. Optometrists examine, diagnose, treat and manage diseases, injuries and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures as well as identify related systemic conditions affecting the eye.
Dr. Trichelle Jackson is the daughter of Jim and Chrys Velky of Ogden, daughter-in-law of Doug and Donna Jackson of Urbandale, and granddaughter of Jerry Velky of Clutier.
