Traer residents now have a new choice when it comes to getting fit, and staying that way. Fighterbody Ultimate Fitness opened this month downtown, and based upon the turnout, things are going very well for the new gym.
Several area residents have started taking classes at Fighterbody, which offers kickboxing and other fitness routines to build a better body without the full contact of a fighting sport.
The gym allows users to work out with things like punching bags, striking mitts, kick shields and others to work various parts of the body and provide a more complete bang for your buck.
Folks in Traer can now train like a UFC fighter without the fear of getting pummeled like one. Here, a few of the participants trade jabs.
One of the things customers have been enjoying is the variety of experience levels that can take part in the workouts. The program's techniques fit virtually any level of fitness or experience, and trainers can help users figure out their strengths and weaknesses, focusing on areas they can improve it to get the body they want.
Owner Mike Powell opened the gym after successfully starting branches in Waterloo and La Porte City. The Traer location will allow residents here to work out in a competitive, yet comfortable setting, without having to travel to a larger city like Waterloo.
Class times are at 5 and 6 a.m. for those early birds, as well as 5:30 p.m. for other folks who enjoy an evening session.
The length of the class is six weeks, at a cost of $145 per person.
