Traer native Dan Coleman was promoted on June 1 to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corps. Lt. Col. Coleman is currently stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, serving as the Executive Officer of Combat Logistics Regiment 2. He recently returned home from his fourth combat deployment, a year-long tour in Afghanistan. Coleman's rank insignia were pinned on by his children, Matthew, Elizabeth and Jacob. Also in attendance was his wife Sara (Otting), also formerly of Traer. Lieutenant Colonel Coleman is the son of Richard and Betty Coleman, and the son-in-law of Joan Otting, all of Traer.
