My, how things can change in just a few weeks. On June 16, the Redhawk baseball team was hovering around .500, coming off a loss to BCLUW and facing the Iowa Star Conference's toughest foe, Don Bosco Catholic.
Fast forward to today, and the Redhawks are 16-10 after winning seven straight games. Perhaps more incredible is the fact that five of those victories, including the last four in a row, have been shutouts.
North Tama has been outscoring the opposition by a ridiculous 59-12 margin. Senior first baseman Brian Seda is hitting .400 with 27 RBI, and Dalton Hulme has swiped 13 bases on the year.
The Redhawk baseball team has reeled off seven straight wins over the past two weeks. Here, the boys put down the first of two 10-0 victories over Meskwaki last Wednesday night.
Clayton Blocker has also been tearing it up on the basepaths, compiling 18 steals to go along with Brent Billerbeck's 19, a team lead.
Jacob Wrage has pitched a solid 39 and 1/3 innings this season, compiling a 4-1 record and a stellar 2.67 ERA. He has struck out 50 and allowed just 14 walks.
The boys look to close out the season on a high note with a win over Denver on July 5. The Monday games in Jesup ended too late for this edition.
