Effective the evening of July 9, 2012, beginning at 6 p.m., Tama County has implemented an open burning ban until further notice. This is because of the extraordinarily dry conditions the County has been enduring over the past several weeks and the increased danger of fire. If you have general burn ban specific questions, contact the State Fire Marshal Division of the Iowa Department of Public Safety at (515) 725-6145, www.dps.state.ia.us/fm or Tama County questions at (641) 484-3760.
