Mauree L. Nordman, 95

Mauree L. Nordman was born August 17, 1917 in rural Geneseo Township in Tama County, Iowa, daughter of Frederick "Fred" A. and Vera Mauree Gardner Lockard. She received her education in the Geneseo School and graduated Geneseo High School. She then worked in Marshalltown for a time and also did housework for area families. She then went to work for her brother Roger as a bookkeeper where she met and later married her husband, Glen Nordman. Mauree worked as bookkeeper for her husband in his construction business. In 1951 she began working at Wonder Bread Bakery in Waterloo until her retirement in 1980 after 29 years. In 2010 she entered Friendship Village community and her death came at Lakeview Landing on Friday, August 17, 2012 at the age of 95 years. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, opera, the symphony and staying active in politics. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glen, one grandson Dean in 2008, one sister Lois and six brothers, Herb, Earl, Roger, Bill, Wendell and Homer. She is survived by three sons, Fred A. (Elaine) Nordman of Dunkerton, IA, Eric E (Janice) Nordman of Waterloo, IA and Tony L. (Roxann) Nordman of Phoenix, AZ, 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
