Connor Casto and Dakota Vodochodsky of the Tama County Young Guns participated in the State 4H Shoot at Big Springs. Connor received 4th place with smallbore rifle.
September 22 secretary notes:
The regular meeting of the Tama County Young Guns 4H club was held at Connor and Liesel Casto's on September 22. Before the meeting Connor handed out a word scramble that had the parts of the bow and arrow. Connor, substituting for the President, called the meeting to order. There were 4 members and 4 parents present. We had two new members joining our club. Liesel led the Pledge to the American Flag and Brock Upah led the 4H Pledge. Liesel read the minutes of our last meeting. They were approved by Liesel and seconded by Eric Keller and approved as read. The treasurer's report was given and received as read. Our balance as of July 23rd is $458.28. Liesel approved the treasurer's report and Brock seconded it. We will have one bill to Ned Vaughn for shotgun shells. Connor motioned to approve the bill and Brock seconded it.
Old Business discussed was the Halloween Party at the Vodochodsky's, October 20th at 3:00, and the State Shoot October 6th. The two members that are shooting, Connor and Dakota Vodochodsky, will need to be at Big Springs Lodge at 7:30am for registration. Brock motioned to end old business and Eric seconded it.
New business discussed was nomination of officers, the officer training workshop that is October 28th at 5:00 at the Extension Office. And setting up the new year's schedule. Joie Casto will be sending an email to everyone before the next meeting on who the nominees are and the year's schedule. Liesel motioned to end new business and Brock seconded it.
Brock and Eric will meet with Josh Casto October 13th at 2:00 to work on some rifle lessons.
Our next meeting will be the Halloween party and fun shoot. A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Liesel, seconded by Brock and passed unanimously.
After the meeting Josh gave the new members their first lesson Introduction the Rifle.
