KWMT radio was broadcasting live last week from the home of farmer Mark Pokorny in rural Clutier. Pokorny was chosen as the winner of last week's "Feed the Farmer" contest, where the station broadcasts and caters a lunch at the home of one lucky Iowa farmer each week.

Sponsors of the event were Titan Machinery and Brokaw Supply, which both had representatives on hand during the lunch. Feed the Farmer is designed to show appreciation for the hard work of farmers all over the area, and runs for eight weeks in the spring during planting season, as well as eight weeks in the fall for harvest.

Pokorny was grateful for all the family and friends who showed up for the lunch.

Mark Pokorny, a famer from rural Clutier, won the KWMT “Feed the Farmer” contest last week. Pokorny, who has been farming in the area since 1988, was the beneficiary of a catered lunch and live radio broadcast from his home. Here, Pokorny is interviewed by KWMT’s Duane Murley.

"I just decided to call in and then got a call back yesterday telling me I had won," Pokorny said. "It was nice because I just finished my harvest."
