Chicken & Biscuit Supper to benefit worthy causes

October 25, 2012
Ross Bercik - Managing Editor , Traer Star-Clipper

Traer United Methodist Church annual Election Day Chicken and Biscuit Supper is planned for Tuesday, November 6 at the Traer Memorial Building from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Carry out and in-town delivery are available. Call 478-8353 during serving hours to arrange your delivery. Tickets are available at Dahms & Hoeg Insurance, Traer Public Library, Bauch Law Office and Marilyn Bauch at 478-2847.

A portion of the proceeds will be used to support many imporant mission projects, one of which is the Personal Energy Transportation system, or PET. The PET is a device that provides mobility to disabled children and adults worldwide and is the result of a faith-based, volunteer-driven nonprofit organization of the same name.

PET was started in 1994 and has been used in countries around the world ever since due to its low cost, simplicity and sturdiness.

A PET will be there during the supper for those attending to try, so be sure to get your ticket today!

Among the other worthy causes the proceeds will benefit is the Bidwell Riverside Center. The center serves people in need through its food pantry and clothing distributions, and even houses its own child care center. Over 1,000 families in need are served every year by Bidwell Riverside during the Christmas season alone.

Keep an eye out for the ad in next week's Star-Clipper with all the info on the Chicken and Biscuit Supper sponsored by the Traer UMC!
