Tama Co. Democrats gather for dinner

On Saturday, November 3, 2012, the Tama County Democrats held their annual Soup Supper at the Eagles Hall in Tama, Iowa.

Chili, chicken noodle and vegetable beef soup along with ham, turkey and ham salad sandwiches were served from 5 to 7 p.m. Kolaches, rolicky and many delicious desserts were also on the menu. Homemade bakery, cakes, cookies and other goodies were offered at a Bake Sale.

Tama County Chair Glen Sailsbury and John Svoboda were Master of Ceremonies. Greeting the guests were Mike Richardson and Sandy Fowler.

Special guests were candidates Nathan Wrage for lowa House District 72, Bryan Ellenbecker for Sheriff, Dan Anderson for 3rd District Supervisor and Kendall Jordan for 2nd District Supervisor, who thanked their fellow Democrats for their support and reminded them on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6th, to go vote and encourage their friends and neighbors to vote.

Other guest speakers included: Christina Blackcloud-Garcia, who gave a talk on her experience at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina; Retired treasurer Sandy Fowler and retired sheriff Mike Richardson discussed issues facing Tama County residents and also encouraged fellow Democrats to vote. Gary Lamb communicated with the people present on the importance of one vote.

Door prizes were awarded to: Ron Fowler, Don Rairdin, Doris Brezina, Brett Copeland, Leonard Dostal, Marilyn Svoboda, Lawrence Brezina, Jim Kupka, Sherrie Zimmerman, Carlene Rairdin, Judy Fink, Betty Coleman, Mike Richardson, Marcia Kupka, Marne Chalupsky, George Horton, Anne Michael and Dan Zimmerman.

Sugar and Spice provided entertainment throughout the evening.
