Hora-Machacek holds sewing day

The Hora-Machacek Legion Auxiliary of Clutier held a sewing day on Wednesday, January 2nd at the post home. The day began at 9am tearing sheets and sewing strips into carpet balls for carpet weaving at IVH in Marshalltown. The following were sewing Pauline Sienknecht, Mary Seda, Helen Sevcik, Vera Sevcik, Helen Valentine, Jean Miller, Linda Dvorak, Evelyn Caloud, Lillian Dostal, Maxine Kopriva, Eileen Hora, and Veronica Pavlicek. Soup and salads were enjoyed by all at noon.

Marcella Caslavka joined the group for our afternoon meeting. Secretary Evelyn called the roll with all officers present except two. Treasurer Linda gave financial report.

Pauline Sienknecht made a motion to pay Marilyn Svoboda's bill for tubs to hold the Christmas tree and decorations. Seconded by Eileen Hora.

Evelyn and Norbert Caloud assisted all three days at the Christmas Gift Wrap at IVH in Manrshalltown. A get-well card was signed by all preset for Marlys Papesh.

Discussion centered around numerous kitchen utensils needed. List was made and items will be purchased. A paper towel dispenser will be looked into for the ladies restroom.

Tuesday, February 5th will be a sewing day beginning at 9am with potluck at noon. Monthly meeting at 1pm.
