On January 15, 2013 the American Legion Post. #142 Auxiliary met at the Sunrise Hill Assisted Living social room with 13 members attending. They were happy to have Evelyn Harrison, Mary Ruzicka, Fran Roeske & Betty Crawford, residents of Sunrise Hill, be a part of the meeting. Four officers answered roll call. Kathy Manfull said the prayers.

Diane Owens opened the meeting at 2 p.m. She thanked all who helped with the Christmas tea at the nursing home and the Christmas cheer packages, also the gift wrapping at the IVH.

Cecilia Podhajsky said 102 Christmas cheer boxes were delivered by the Legion men.

Pres. Diane & Arlene Schmidt reported 610 gifts were wrapped and 400 gift cards were sent out at the Iowa Veterans Home. Arlene also reported 89 went through the bloodmobile with 82 pints of blood given.

February 16 will be the benefit for Max Morrison's family with silent auction, bake sale and food.

February 19 is our annual insurance dinner at the Memorial Building. Hoping you will be able to help, thanks!

Dorothy Hanus and Sally Sevcik served a delicious dessert.

Meeting was adjourned at 3:45 p.m. God bless our military and all of you.
