The North Tama Redhawks closed out the regular season with a win over area rival Union last Tuesday night with a 67-54 victory.
Mitchell Boerm scored 30 points, and Nolan Hefty had a team-high 10 rebounds and narrowly missed a double-double with nine points. Paul Kaufmann had six and Brent Billerbeck tallied five points for the Redhawks, who were up just one at the half, but pulled away with a 19-8 third quarter en route to the victory.
The win, which brought the Redhawks to 21-1 overall on the season, followed an Iowa Star conference win over Dunkerton and was a nice bonus for North Tama as it now looks forward to district play.
The Redhawks have a first-round bye and will host the winner of the BCLUW and Valley Lutheran game on Thursday, February 14, at 7 p.m. in Traer.
